Our people

Dave Lawson holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde and has dedicated the past 15 years to the renewables industry, with expertise in turbine performance analysis and operations management.

Dave began his career as an Operations Analyst for Falck Renewables (now Nadara) before moving to Dutch owner/operator Eneco, where he served as a Site and Operations Supervisor, managing a 220MW onshore wind and 25MW solar PV portfolio. In 2019, he was promoted to UK Operations Manager at Eneco, focusing on maximising the efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s assets.

In 2023, Dave took a year-long sabbatical to build a house and welcome his third child. He joined Gael Energy in March 2024 as a part-time Project Manager, where he is responsible for developing business cases for wind turbine repowering projects and ensuring the smooth management of operational assets.

Outside of his professional life, Dave enjoys Munro bagging, road cycling, and spending time with his young family. He is also a keen beekeeper, currently managing five hives.
