Logistics Lead
Gael Energy Ltd is a specialist provider of operation and maintenance, site optimisation, equipment supply, installation, and commissioning services to the renewable energy industry. The company focuses on onshore wind turbines of all sizes and offers remote monitoring, operation and maintenance, bespoke optimisation, and asset management services to customers across the UK. In collaboration with key partners, Gael Energy also provides additional energy solutions, including the design and supply of energy storage and management systems.
The Logistics Lead plays a key role in ensuring efficient operations within the warehouse by managing inventory, maintaining accurate stock records, and supporting logistical activities. The role requires attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming stock and materials against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Organise and store inventory in designated areas to maximise space and accessibility.
- Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure inventory accuracy
Stock Control:
- Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or shortages to the Operations Manager.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of stock replenishment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory using warehouse management systems (Papertrail).
- Ensure all equipment is NFC tagged as per Management of Equipment Policy (F01-032)
- Adhere to (F01-032) and the process map for the equipment maintenance schedule
Order Fulfillment:
- Pick, pack, and dispatch orders according to company procedures and customer requirements.
- Ensure all outbound shipments are correctly labelled and documented
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to workplace health & safety guidelines, ensuring a safe environment for all staff.
- Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery (if certified) in accordance with your training
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the storage and work areas
Collaboration and Communication:
- Coordinate with other departments, including purchasing, logistics, to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
- Support team members during peak periods or as directed by management.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Organisational Skills: Ability to manage inventory, track stock, and maintain an organized workspace
- Attention to Detail: Ensures accurate record-keeping and minimizes errors in inventory database (Papertrial)
- Time Management: Effectively prioritise tasks and meets deadlines
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for liaising with team members and suppliers
- Physical Stamina: Capable of handling heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, and basic computer literacy
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and ability to follow them consistently
- Problem-Solving Skills: Quickly resolves issues related to inventory discrepancies or logistical challenges
- Teamwork: Works well with colleagues in a collaborative environment
- Customer Service Skills: Maintains a professional and helpful attitude when interacting with clients or suppliers
- Experience: Proven experience as a storeman, warehouse assistant, or similar role
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with warehouse management software and basic computer literacy
- Forklift certification (if required)
Soft Skills:
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely as per manual handling training.
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures and conditions within a warehouse setting.
